We provide need-based scholarships to junior and senior secondary school students.
Junior secondary school scholarships are $50 for one year, while senior secondary school
scholarships are $250 per year. As we can, we also provide performance-based scholarships
for college as well.
In 2008, 17-year-old Gilly Ashdown approached the Ghana Literacy Project
with enough money to send one of our students to college for an entire year; since then, she
has continued to raise money in the hopes that she can provide a scholarship for a student's entire
four years. This scholarship will be awarded to student Elizabeth Deku when she graduates high school
in 2012. Elizabeth, who is an extremely talented writer and actress, is debating whether to become a
musician or a policewoman. We are also in the process of starting a study abroad program for our students.
